Sigh...
What a week. On Saturday, we won the Parents of The Year Award for Bennett's first injury. In an accumulation of a couple dumbshit moves Nate and I managed to make, in an instant our poor little guy had scraped the skin on his hand when the stroller tipped over. Thankfully I had just strapped him in and no serious injuries were had. Either way, it was traumatic for everyone. I felt physically ill. My perfect little man hurt his paw. In that instant, as irrational as it sounds, I would had my own finger cut off to take the pain away form him. It was awful. That whole night, I ran the scene over and over. Honestly, I thanked God that he was mostly protected. Things could have been much worse. He could have smacked his head, it could have been his face. The list goes on and on. Hard and scary lesson for both of us. The next pancake will be hopefully edible.
Now, a few days later, it looks gross. But its just skin. And skin grows back, and amazingly quickly in the young in's. He was playing normally that evening and I'm happy to report it may just take another week to be back to normal.
This is actually taken a few days before. I wouldn't let him have my phone. But of course i gave in and now my back key doesn't work. Thanks slime bucket :)
He has his paw wrapped up. Well, its really just his little pointer finger. He has a mad case of bed head too. :)
So I'm off to make a grocery list for this weekend. We are heading out to Arizona for a family reunion. My grandparents still haven't met Bennett and we are excited for that. I'll probably fill up my memory card. I'm going to make cupcakes, so I have to chew some gum (brilliant advice from fellow Mama, April!) The diet is still going strong! Hopefully I will have a chance to make a post with my yum yum cupcakes. I have a lot to do as far as packing up myself and the kid. So we shall see.
I'll try not to jack this kid up anymore, and that's a promise.
